Quote Of The Day: Rafa Nadal

Back story: Rafael Nadal was playing a charity doubles match last week with Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, and Roger Federer. Each player was wearing a microphone so that the crowd could hear them talk trash to one another. It seemed like harmless fun until Agassi decided to joke about Sampras being a cheapskate. As you’ll see in the video below, those comments did not sit well with Pete.

Anyway…after the match, reporters asked Nadal to comment on what happened on the court. This was his response:
“Everybody told me after the match what’s happened, but during the match, you know how fast Americans speak, and I am Spanish. I didn’t understand nothing.” (Sports Illustrated)

Que? Is that a Spanish person saying that Americans speak fast? That’s like Wilt Chamberlain calling Tiger Woods a womanizer.
