Rockstar WeeklyFall Out Boy bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz has said that he “can’t imagine playing in Fall Out Boy again”, casting one of the world’s biggest rock bands into crisis. “As a band we grew apart,” the bassist explained, suggesting that the group may go on without him, which he writes in his blog. The latest entry, which can be read below, shows a lost soul looking for a change.

On November 20, 2009, the four band members announced they will be taking a break, an indefinite hiatus for the time being. “We don’t know the future of Fall Out Boy!” said the four band members in a statement. Wentz has also said that his personal reason for taking a break is that he feels that his name and marriage to pop singer Ashlee Simpson had become a hindrance for the band. He added: “I think the world needs a little less Pete Wentz”

It’s about god damn time. I can’t stand this emo craze that has been going on for the last few years. I keep seeing male teenagers walking around with tight jeans and hoodies as if that’s the cool thing nowadays. I pray to god every night before I go to sleep that they fall off their skateboards and eat shit. I’ve never wanted to beat up a certain group of people more than I do the fans of Fall Out Boy. You know it’s gone too far when the difference between emo and gay attire has become indecipherable. Hopefully with bands like fall out boy and yellowcard falling by the wayside, this will all finally go away.
