Well, as suspected, Leno’s statement in support of Conan, that he wouldn’t take back the Tonight Show, was utter bullshit.

New York Post – Late-night funnyman Conan O’Brien’s last night as host of “The Tonight Show” will likely be next Friday, allowing Jay Leno to reclaim his old time slot. “Conan does not currently plan on doing any more new shows after next week,” a source told People magazine’s Web site this afternoon. Leno struck a deal with NBC to reclaim the 11:35 p.m. to 12:35 a.m. “Tonight Show” slot.

It’s taken two days since I called out NBC in the Andrew Fenlon post, and now we see that Leno was the man behind the curtain.  He’s like the wizard manipulating the king in Lord of the Rings, like the man in black from Lost, like Verbal Kint.  Pulling all the little strings behind the scenes to ensure his reinstatement as Tonight Show host.  There’s not much else I can say on the subject.  I’ll just continue not watching Jay Leno as I always have.  Jimmy Kimmel summed up my feelings on the matter last night when he appeared on Leno primetime.  Just awesomely awkward. Watch it, chew on it, it’s delicious:
