Introducing the “Disposable Flask”…

Given the outrageous drink pricing at most major sporting and music events, no one is going to blame you for sneaking in your own hooch — but when security rears its ugly head, it’s way better to not have an expensive carrying device in your pocket. Enter the Disposable Flask ($15/set of 3). These 7.5 oz. reusable foil pouches are portable, freezable, pocketable, and easily disposable, and feature airtight plastic lids that won’t leave tell-tale leakage marks on your clothes.  (via uncrate, restoration hardware)

While a disposable flask is obviously a great idea, I’m actually more impressed with the airtight plastic screw-on cap.  As a kid, I thought Capri-Suns sucked for two reasons – you could only get two sips out of them before they were drained, and more importantly, the flimsy plastic straw was practically impossible to get into the hole.  Maybe I was just impatient, but about 50% of the time I’d punch right through both sides of the pouch and make a mess.  The other 50% of the time I’d squeeze the bag to get some space at the top for a clean puncture, and then juice would squirt everywhere once the tiny silver hole gave way.  A screw-on cap completely eliminates both problems.

I think there’s some serious potential here to turn a hefty profit.  The key is beating alcohol producers to the product.  Before Capn Morgan gets his greasy paws on the disposable flask, I’m going to brew some home-grown Massachusetts rum and start filling up 12 packs.  “Capri-Rums” by Boozeworthy.  Any investors/knowledgable rum distillers out there in the audience?
