Gather Entertainment - Sesame Street turned 40 yesterday. Even Google acknowledged the milestone, featuring Big Bird on its homepage. Viewers tuned in on November 10th to see Michelle Obama stop by and have lunch with Elmo.

After premiering on PBS on November 10th, 1969, Sesame Street quickly grew to now-iconic status with its song parodies, promotion of family values, and adorably inquisitive characters. It currently airs in 120 countries, in countless languages, and attracts some of the biggest superstars in the world. No one turns down the opportunity to hang out with a Muppet.

We here at Boozeworthy would like to wish Sesame Street a happy 40th birthday. Though we may be a day late, I’d like to take a moment to look back at some of the show’s finer moments…
