Telegraph.co.uk - Men with an Emerald Isle brogue came top in a poll of 5,000 women worldwide, while the French accent only came fourth, just ahead of Australian.
Italian, the native language of stars such as jockey Frankie Dettori, was second. In third place was the Scottish burr, made famous by actor Sean Connery.
English was sixth and Swedish was seventh, with Spanish, Welsh and American completing the top 10.
French men were ranked 4th? How does an accent overshadow being a pussy? Besides , I can’t think of a French woman I’m attracted to. Most of them have hairy pits as far as I know.
Anyway, I usually jump at the opportunity to celebrate a victory for the Irish, but in this case I’m not on their team. I may have Irish blood, but my accent gets lumped in with the American crowd. Something I don’t understand is how you can classify American as one accent in this poll. I’m pretty sure an Irishman has a closer brogue to a Scotsman than a Bostonian has to a Houstonian. Don’t worry, If the Boston accent were it’s own category we’d have won it, boys.
